I got a call from an Enzacta distributor today. She wondered if I could help her explain to her potential diabetic clients why Alfa PXP, a long chain polysaccharide peptide, will not make their blood sugar go up, or interfere with their diabetic treatment in any way. They are by necessity carbohydrate counters and there is no carb info on the PXP bottle.
Here's the deal:
Glucose is liberated from dietary carbohydrate such as starch or sucrose by hydrolysis within the small intestine and is then absorbed into the blood. Elevated concentrations of glucose in blood stimulate release of insulin, and insulin acts on cells thoughout the body to stimulate uptake, utilization and storage of glucose.
In other words, insulin is required for the metabolism of carbohydrates.
One of the most fabulous attributes of Alfa PXP is that IT IS SO TINY IT SLIPS THROUGH THE CELL MEMBRANE, RIGHT INTO THE MITOCHONDRION WITHOUT BEING METABOLIZED!! There is no increase in blood glucose, there is no physiological cry-out for insulin.
The majority of my clients take PXP for blood sugar issues and across the board it has helped a great deal. I have one client who proudly says: "I take only PXP and I can eat anything I want!" (She was formerly insulin-dependent) My own blood sugar was hovering around 100 the last few years. After a few months on PXP it has come down to 75, right where it should be.
There have been studies done on diabetic patients which I've posted HERE
